• Anything that resembles a vagabond in having no fixed place, pirate ships were vagabonds of the sea.
  rootless, wandering aimlessly without ties to a place or community Some can be said to have led a vagabond life or be a rootless wanderer. Continually changing especially as from one abode or occupation to another, to be a drifting double-dealer or part of the floating population or historically vagrant hippies of the sixties.
